Lupita Island

Lupita Island, one of Tanzania’s most distinctive private islands, is known for its rustic luxury and completely individualized service. Located near the southern extremity of Lake Tanganyika, only 4 kilometers from the continent,
The longest and second-deepest lake in the world, Lake Tanganyika, contains almost 18% of the fresh water on Earth. With relatively little human development along its banks, one of the cleanest lakes in the world is home to over 250 distinct species of cichlids (the tiny colorful fish you find in fish tanks) making it a haven for divers and snorkelers. Unknown gem. The lone archipelago of islands on the lake contains Lupita Island.
There are 110 acres of native woodlands here, free from commercialism and tourism. The atmosphere at Lupita Island Lodge is unique and is influenced by the area’s geography, culture, and history. Visitors enjoy gorgeous surroundings and complete seclusion in a still-unexplored region of Tanzania. We provide diving, swimming, kayaking, and snorkeling. Sunset cruises and beachside eating are popular activities. The island’s crystal-clear waters make swimming and kayaking a delight, and they only enhance the experience.
The only exclusive resort on Lake Tanganyika The short 20-minute ride (10 minutes by car and 10 minutes by boat) from the airstrip to Lupita is a terrific way to start your stay because we have our own private airstrip on the mainland. Situated in Tanzania’s isolated southwestern area. The island is unusually private and prehistorically lush. You are free to rediscover who you are on our 110 acres of privacy.
The slope is dotted with ten villas that have been put there deliberately. All of them feature total seclusion and look out over stunning lake vistas. Private plunge pools on open verandas are connected to the pool by a little stream that flows through the apartments. Each villa has an open floor plan featuring a separate sitting area, bedroom, bathroom, and open patio. Open-air baths and a gorgeous waterfall shower. There were no glass or doors. Each villa is exceptionally secluded while also being open and roomy because of the way they are constructed. Many African woods, craftsmanship, and antiques were incorporated into our décor, giving it a beautifully opulent rustic vibe.
Lupita Island specializes in leisure trips to secluded, romantic islands. A fitting conclusion to a thrilling safari or as a stand-alone location for a romantic retreat or special occasion. Includes beverages and dishes with an ethnic theme. Wonderful spa services to pamper the senses, kayaking and snorkeling around the amazingly clear underwater boulders to observe the vividly colored cichlids, handline fishing with a local fisherman, sunset cruises, and beach buffets on a picture-perfect deserted beach are just a few of the activities available. Lupita Island is the ideal location if you’re hoping to unwind for a few days away from the throng while still having access to a variety of entertaining activities on Lake Tanganyika. Working closely with the people that we choose, good values are visible in their amicable professionalism, adding a further positive element to an already wonderful experience. We take pride in providing our guests with exemplary service and going above and beyond when necessary.
ROMANCE
Lupita Island is a great place for romance. It is ideal for small, private gatherings as well as big family gatherings for weddings or other events. Our group events are the ideal blend of beautiful setting and private occasions, with only 10 private villas distributed over the island’s slopes. It enables us to concentrate on every little aspect of the celebration, including specific champagne demands, unusual food requests, and custom tours. All of our services are tailored since we collaborate closely with the group’s organizer to take into account every necessity.

Due to the open plunge pools on the verandas and the height of the balconies in the villas, we do not permit children under the age of seven on Lupita Island. However, both of these amenities provide a little something extra to the stay for your event for all of the grownups.

FOOD
At the highest point of the island, Lupita’s open eating area enjoys cooling winds. The serene atmosphere and breathtaking lake vista are pleasing to the eye, but our selection of fresh fish, including succulent grilled Nile perch and a beautifully seasoned Kuwe, satisfy the palate. Modern African cuisine is one of our chefs’ specialties. It is always served with one of our delectable desserts and is made with fresh, regional ingredients.
On one of the days, we’ll set up a catered banquet on the sand as a special treat for everyone. We may set up an intimate dinner for two in your room or by the pool. Dine outside on the main pool deck while admiring the incredible canopy of stars. There are seldom more than 28 people on the island at once, so dining is always a special occasion.
We offer three- or four-course dinners in our inviting open-air restaurant, which has a gorgeous thatched dining area with candlelight at night. Lunch or dinner can be served at the bar or by the pool for a more relaxed occasion.
