DETAILED ITINERARY: 8 DAYS TANZANIA SOUTHERN SAFARI
Day 1 Arrival in Tanzania (Welcome to Tanzania)
Your driver will meet you at the airport in Dar es Salaam (Julius Nyerere International Airport) and take you to your hotel in the city. Dinner and overnight lodging at your Dar es Salaam hotel
Day 2: Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve
You will travel by car for around 6 hours in the morning from Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve. After lunch is served when you arrive, you’ll go on a boat safari on the Rufiji River in the late afternoon. In Selous National Park, you can stay at a camp for dinner and the night.
Day 3: Full day Selous Game Reserve
This day will be spent doing game drives inside the Selous Game Drive. Lunch will be served there, and after that, you’ll set out on further drives till the evening. On this day, you will encounter lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, birds, wild dogs, and many other Southern Tanzanian wild creatures. In Selous National Park, you can stay at a camp for dinner and the night.
Day 4: Selous Game Reserve to Mikumi National Park
After breakfast, your guide will take you on a five-hour trip to Mikumi National Park. After lunch is given, you will leave for a game drive inside Mikumi National Park. You will arrive in the afternoon. An overnight stay at a lodge in Mikumi, including dinner
Day 5: Full day Mikumi National Park
The best predators and big game in Africa will be visible to you today when you go on game drives inside Mikumi National Park. You will encounter zebras, hippos, giraffes, elephants, lions, leopards, and hyenas, in addition to the hartebeest, wildebeest, impala, warthog, and eland antelope. Day 6: Mikumi National Park to Ruaha National Park
After breakfast, our guide will transport you from Mikumi National Park to Tanzania’s largest national park, Ruaha national park. You will arrive about lunchtime, lunch will be served, and then you will go on a game drive in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight accommodations in Ruaha at a lodge
Day 7: Full Day Ruaha National Park
You will be driven out of your lodge in the morning for a day of game viewing; you will encounter one of Tanzania’s highest concentrations of predators, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, wild dogs, bat-eared foxes, and jackals. Elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, Grant’s gazelles, greater and lesser kudus, sable and roan antelopes, waterbucks, and impalas are among the grazers to be seen.
